Animal Friendly Tourism

The LIONSROCK Programme in Ethical Tourism is a two-day immersive programme held at our Sanctuary, focused on promoting Animal Welfare while fostering a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness between animals, humans, and the environment. Through a range of engaging activities, you will discover the significance of “One Welfare,” where the well-being of animals, people, and the environment are intricately linked.

The tourism industry has a key role to play in promoting animal welfare through responsible practices. This program equips individuals with the knowledge and in-depth understanding of animal welfare and environmental issues in the tourism industry. It emphasises the concept of “One Welfare” as a complementary nexus of animal welfare, human welfare and environmental sustainability.

Through the educational activities and experiences built into the course, we provide the learning experiences to demonstrate that tourism as a business can be economically viable without compromising animal welfare and environmental sustainability.
