Lions Juba and Micca bond in their species

Lions Micca and Juba

These lions were purchased by a private owner from a local lion breeder.

Micca has a bit of an unorthodox story. She and her playmate, Juba, both 8 years old, were purchased by a private owner from a local lion breeder in the Free State, South Africa. They were to serve as extra security for her farm.

Unfortunately, the owner had to sell her farm and was no longer able to house and take care of these precious creatures. Sadly, before FOUR PAWS could transport the big cats, a veld fire destroyed their enclosure in 2018. LIONSROCK had to step in very quickly to secure them a safe space where they are now living out their lion lives in harmony with each other.

Micca is a very relaxed lioness that loves to sit on her structures and sunbathe and be the lazy cat she was meant to be. On lovely, cool days she comes up to the fence to greet anyone passing her and Juba’s enclosure.

She loves to play but is also the jealous type and does not like it when Juba gets all the attention. She can often be found sulking when she feels that she did not get enough TLC.
